I know it’s just the angle, but the splash page makes it look like Superman’s S shield is missing off his chest, like it’s a sticker he removes before he goes to bed (so it doesn’t get wrinkled?).
Santa Claus made enough in-story appearances in DC books that he deserved his own Who’s Who entry. Are you reading this, Xum?
Also–I had no idea that Rudolph was a copyrighted character! THE MORE YOU KNOW.
Fun episode guys, Merry Xmas!
It’s definitely removable.
I could be mistaken, but I believe Frosty the Snowman is actually owned by Warner Bros.
Where’s HIS team-up special?
Bishop Sheen’s famous sermon on “Superman & Christmas”:
The ownership of a lot of the classic Rankin/Bass TV specials is split among many license holders. Classic Media owns the original Rudolph and Frosty, but some of the sequels (like Rudolph and Frosty’s Christmas in July) are owned by Warner Brothers. It’s a lot like Hammer films being strewn among many studio holders.
As for Frosty the character… I’m not sure WHO owns that…
Chris
I remember reading this, and one thing that I recall liking more than anything else is Krypto as a puppy barking at that holographic mental projection. That’s such a cute panel.
A great podcast present. Not just this episode, but the entire FW Team-Up series. Looking forward to more in 2018. Thank you, Siskoid, and Merry Christmas!
Thank YOU Tim, and happy New Year.
This was published some time after I was compelled to buy every issue, and at a time when I dismissed stories with Santa, and the Toyman. College man, hmmmf. Now, that I know it’s a Swanderson book, I NEED to have it! Great Krypton, but I love their work together!
I was the same as a 12-year-old in this story.
