  1. Rob and Danny, I really enjoyed listening to the two of you enjoy this fun episode. I always wondered if Radar lacked the vocabulary to explain what happened to him — at least in concise terms. “Genuine weird nerd girl” is a perfect description for a charming character, and one that explains why she seemed so familiar.

You probably know Michelin is a French company. Maybe back then Americans pronounced the guide the correct way, even if they didn’t bother with the tires (or tyres)?

  2. Another episode I love.

For one, even as a tweener, this show gave me hope. If that nurse can look at Radar with such passion then maybe somewhere out there was a girl who would look at this comic book loving, Robotech fanatic with the same zeal.

Also, for the longest time, because of Radar’s reaction, I thought that ‘slaking’ had a dirty meaning. Like it was a low level, high brow swear word.

Lastly, I learned of Rupert Brooke in a college course I took on WW1. He was a sort of patriotic, pro-war British poet. ‘The Soldier’ is my favorite poem by him. Fun to hear him brought up here!

  3. I am loving the transition between heavy and light episodes this season.

I like it when everyone is doing their own thing. Klinger getting married was a big change for him. While his wife wasn’t brought up as often as Peg (did you know BJ missed her and Erin) she did come up from time to time and he was the most faithful husband on the show. I think Rizzo was the only other married man who never admitted to cheating at least once.

The Alex Karas story was funny. Kudos to Larry Linville for getting twirled. MASH wasn’t much a physical comedy but it was done well when they did.

  4. My favorite bit in this episode is Karras as Cpl Wesson. He very believably went from following Hawkeye like a puppy to defending him like a pitbull as needed. A wonderful little performance.

  5. Favorite line — when they begin to lose the HAM transmission.
Klinger – Well, find it dammit. Sorry Father.
Father – It’s a wedding, my son. I understand your anger.

  6. Bit of military marriage over the wire trivia. The first was by telegraph in 1876 on April 24th at 20:00 exactly (the lines had to be cleared) with the army telegraph operator in camp Grant Arizona and his fiancee and a minister who was 650 miles away in San Diego.
