  1. You guys painted the portrait of an intriguingly grim song that I wanted to listen to, and then it started playing, and I was like “what the hell is this?” I briefly though it might be like “Hook” by Blues Traveler, smuggling a cynical, satirical message inside bar band pop, but I can’t hear anything over the hard turn into ’70s AOR. Afraid I’m going to have to file this under “failed to connect.”

  2. Very interesting show. Just thought I’d let you know how the album was received in the UK.
Generally it got very positive in the British Music Press. I think this was a complete contrast to the USA.

It was released during his 1978 UK tour his first tour here since 1966.

We queued all night in Glasgow to buy tickets for his shows in London. My friend drove from Edinburgh to London. We left at 6AM and were in a Service station on the outskirts of London by 9:30.

The concert was held in the vast Earls Court Exhibition Hall. We had seats in row FFF which we thought would be miles from the stage. In fact in turned out it was 6 rows from the front. Amazing to see the great man in concert for the first time.
